These are the current fees being charged by the Pet Adoption League for the adoption of the dogs and cats we offer. These fees are calculated to cover our costs associated with making these animals available in the condition that we do. So, you may ask, what is it that we do. Each dog or cat adopted out by our group is spayed or neutered. In certain cases where we release the animal prior to that procedure being done, the cost of same is included in the adoption fee and a volunteer will make contact and assist in getting the spay/neuter done at the right time without any additional cost to the new pet parent. Every dog or cat adopted out will be up to date on the basic shot series appropriate for the animal, including the rabies vaccination. When we adopt out puppies or kittens, all the shots required at the various stages up to and including the first annual shot series are included. It is because we cover the cost of the puppy and kitten shots that our fees for puppies and kittens are a bit higher. If you contact veterinarians directly and inquire as to the costs associated with getting these services done individually, it will become clear that the adoption fees charged are a good value.
