In cooperation with another rescue group known as H.A.A.R.T. (which stands for "Henryetta Animal Aid & Rescue Team", and with the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, the Pet Adoption League participated in the "all at once group rescue" of six dogs and one cat that were at an animal shelter facility in a small town not too far from Henryetta.
Some members of this group of animals (often referred to within our group as the "Okemah 7") were in serious need of veterinary care. They are all safe with one of our veterinary partners and getting the treatment they need.
As soon as it's practical, they will start showing with us at Petsmart. They are all on the website now, and each will be adopted out as soon they are ready, and a suitable home becomes available.
A more complete summary of all the details about this rescue is posted on our "events" page.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to help the Pet Adoption League pay the medical bills for our animals, click on the Bone. We are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 charitable organization so your donations may be tax deductible.

Details about our showing dates and locations:
If you would like to meet some of the dogs available for adoption, there are several ways to begin. The easiest way to start is to come and visit the PetsMart store located in Tulsa on 71st Street just west of the Mingo Valley Expressway (Hwy 169). Volunteers are there every Saturday afternoon from 11:00 AM till 4:00 PM with animals (mostly dogs, but often a few cats) for you to meet.
If you would like to meet some of the other cats available for adoption, volunteers are at the Petsmart store located in Tulsa on 41st Street just a bit east of the Promenade Mall on every Saturday with cats only from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM.
We show puppies and kittens at the Heritage Veterinary Hospital "Adoption Annex" facility. The Adoption Annex is located very close to Heritage Vet., but the entrance does face a different street. The address for the Adoption Annex is 7914 East 40th Street, Tulsa, OK 74145-3213. The entrance door faces north onto 40th street, and this would be the "most west" of the spaces in the building. You can always call Heritage Veterinary Hospital during normal business hours at 918-627-8575 and arrange to meet with the puppies or kittens.
The Adoption Annex has scheduled open times from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM each Saturday. If you arrive before noon and discover the door is not open, don't worry. You can simply go over to Heritage Vet. (4011 South 79th East Ave., their door faces west) and let them know that you are there to see some of the babies.
This coming Saturday (17-May-14) we will be showing some puppies (Brandi, Bibi, Bonita & Baylee) at the Southern Agriculture store located at 6501 East 71st Street. (This is slightly to the east at the NE corner of 71st S and Sheridan Rd.)

Occasionally other locations host volunteers with animals too. In order to find out about when and where you can meet the animals, please call 918-365-8725. You will be able to inquire about specific animals, and you may also be able to make arrangements to meet with animals in their foster homes or at veterinarian's offices where they may be staying.
When you view the pets in the Animal Gallery, you will frequently find a contact name, phone number, and email address specifically for that animal along with the other information provided.
